Amplifying the 16 Days of Activism Campaign

Location:
Start Date:
25th, November 2025
End Date:
25th, December 2025

From 25th November to 25th December, community activists will intensify VAW prevention
activities in Central and Kawempe divisions, Kampala. The aim is to deepen community
understanding of men’s power over women and the silence that sustains it. Key activities will
include:
a. Poster facilitation led by community activists: This initiative involves the use of posters
featuring real-life experiences of social interactions between men, women, young girls, and
children. Each poster is accompanied by guiding questions on the back, designed to direct
discussions towards topics such as violence against women and girls (VAW/G), power dynamics,
the consequences of VAW/G, and the benefits of non-violence.
The poster facilitations will target men and women in various public places such as markets,
garages, churches, drinking joints, and neighborhoods. Key activities will include:
• Power Posters: Visual aids to stimulate discussions and reflections.
• Community Conversations: Open dialogues within the community.
• Leadership Leaflets: Informational materials to guide community leaders.
Community activists will lead over 170 VAW prevention activities in Kampala

Community Activists, Traditional Marriage Counselors, and Community Leaders will also join
the global commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism under the theme:
Re-imagining Feminist Futures — Rising in Solidarity, Thriving Out of Crisis.
Given the current political environment, activists will engage small groups through door-to-door
conversations and other personal approaches. Guiding questions to spark discussions include:
 What does it mean to rise together?
 What does a thriving, liberated feminist future look like when we allow ourselves to truly
imagine it?
 What small, intentional acts of justice, care, and courage can each of us commit today,
tomorrow, and every day after?
