Josephine Kamisya named new CEDOVIP Executive Director

The Center for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) has announced the appointment of Josephine Kamisya as its new Executive Director. She brings over a decade of experience in promoting human rights and preventing violence against women in Uganda.

Previously serving as the Senior Program Officer for the National Prevention of Violence Against Women Program, Kamisya holds a BA Honors Degree in Development Studies from Makerere University and is pursuing an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies.

She has been instrumental in leading the national rollout of the SASA! initiative, which focuses on addressing violence against women through community-driven approaches.

Known for her warm and approachable demeanour, Kamisya excels at building relationships with activists, civil society organizations, and government departments. Her commitment to fostering happiness and peace within the organization and among stakeholders has been a hallmark of her leadership style.
