Josephine Kamisya is the Executive Director of CEDOVIP effective January 2025. She holds a BA Honors Degree in Development Studies from Makerere University and is pursuing an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies. With over 10 years of experience in advancing human rights and preventing violence against women, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in mobilizing communities and strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to address gender-based violence in Uganda.

As a key driver of the national rollout of the SASA! initiative, Josephine has been instrumental in fostering transformative community-led approaches to ending violence against women. Her expertise extends to building strong partnerships with activists, civil society, and government agencies to create sustainable solutions for violence prevention.

Known for her warmth, empathy, and ability to inspire others, Josephine is committed to activating inner peace and happiness among those she works with.
