CEDOVIP conductsSASA! bi-monthly practical capacity building sessions with Community Activists (CAs) twice every month to strengthentheir knowledge and facilitation skills for preventing violence against women and commercial sex exploitation against children through impartingleadership, facilitation, planning and reporting skills to CAs.
CEDOVIP will conductskill building bi-monthly trainings with activists from seven parishes in Kampala district. Five of these parishes focus on prevention of VAW/G and CSEC include Bwaise II, Makerere III, Kibuye I, Kamwokya II in Kampala District. The other 2 parishes of Katwe and Kabowa in Kampala District focus on VAW/G using the SASA!Approach.
Topics to be covered will include; Community activity planning, report writing, deepening their articulation of men’s power over women as a root cause of violence, benefits of men and women respecting each other in intimate relationships. This will be done by role playing the communication material (Start Phase power poster) in small groups.
