Between Jan 2nd to 30th March 2018 CEDOVIP will coordinate the Domestic Violence Act coalition to participate and influence the budget process to ensure that relevant sectors of Health, Gender and Social Development, Justice, Law and Order sector prioritize and allocate resources for the implementation of Violence against women and girls (VAW/G) laws.

This will be done through the review of the Budget framework papers (BFP) for the financial year 2018/19 to development policy briefs highlighting the gaps while making recommendations that will be used to strategically engage key sectors and Parliamentary committees. According to government calendar, currently the district councilors are reviewing the district Budget Framework Papers (BFP) while Parliament is reviewing the National Budget Framework Paper (NBFP) for FY 2018/19.

CEDOVIP will also closely work with the Civil society Budget Advocacy group under the social sector thematic working group to influence the budget allocations for VAW/G legislations.
